Fairbairn–Sykes Second Pattern Fighting Knife and Scabbard
Fairbairn–Sykes Second Pattern Fighting Knife and Scabbard
Second Pattern Fairbairn–Sykes fighting knife belonging to Ernest “Ernie” Milner of No. 2 Commando. The knife retains the scabbard that remained with it in the family, although its upper portion was repaired after the war, believed to have been by Ernest's son. The repair has been retained as part of the object's family provenance rather than replaced or reconstructed.
